Abstract:

Organizations focus testing efforts on functional and integration application testing in EBS R12.1 implementations. Many do not realize the need for formal testing approaches for data migrations, consolidations and transformations. Many migrations are performed by data conversion utilities that should be considered new software by the project team. We will discuss the various levels of testing required to manage the data migrations and inherent risks in the process. We will review processes to follow to mitigate the risks associated with data migration testing. An effective data migration testing strategy is critical irrespective of the level of data cleansing and data consolidation. We will examine recent R12.1 case studies and provide proven techniques to be used throughout the migration process. Take away strategies you can use to bring quality and focus to your R12.1 data conversions.
