Project Management will often take different directions and focuses over the course of an eBusiness Suite R12 Project.  Project Management has certainly changed over the last decade with evolving developments in methodologies and organizational cultures, including ‘Agile Development.’   We have reviewed our Project Management processes over several Oracle E-Business Suite R12 implementations and have included specific communications, organizational change and objective project metrics (earned value management) into our projects.  John will provide strategy and techniques to address agile development; review a focused metrics scorecard for reporting progress on projects.  We will also discuss specific guidelines and lessons learned while reviewing the importance of earned value management as a project control technique.  Most important John will analyze why failure rates for ERP development projects remain high.  “Don’t get detoured, stay on the right and never-ending road to Project Management by spending time with an implementation expert.”

The main goal of any Enterprise Asset Management project is to eliminate asset downtime, which drives up costs due to productivity loss.  While software helps to achieve this, most organizations are unable to truly take advantage of the system.  Providing (Feeding) Master, Referential and Transactional Data require precise planning and execution.  The capability to improve maintenance schedules; increase uptime, enhance reliability and define risk management policies is all about effective Data Management.  We will examine in detail a case study for a global company reviewing the process followed throughout the Project.  Discuss both manual and automated processes used to bring the data into an Oracle R12 instance mitigating the risks associated with data migration and integration to achieve timeliness, accuracy and quality.  We will present strategies to realize true cost savings of your Enterprise Asset Management system without fear!


Presenter Bio's:

Austin Davis
With over a decade of consulting experience in Oracle applications, network design, and systems integration, Austin is an expert in many areas of business system integration and development including networked environments, system hardware configuration and Oracle technology products. He has served in such capacities to perform systems design, enterprise technology architecture, application development and project management. In his capacity as Vice President, Austin has been instrumental in addressing the functional and technical demands of the company including responsibility for Sales and Marketing, building the Oracle services organization and building offshore capabilities in Asia, South America and the Middle East. His skills in project management, sales and marketing, and support management have been invaluable to the company.
Austin Davis is currently working to expand Chain-sys in the North America, Brazil and Middle East Regions through building relationships with new partners and assisting the Marketing and Sales organizations.
He takes on this role with twelve years of consulting experience in Oracle applications, network design, and systems integration serving a wide variety of clients in the telecommunications, insurance, semiconductor, defense contractor and high-tech manufacturing industries.

Sundu Rathinam
Sundu Rathinam is an acknowledged world leader in the Oracle Applications ERP space and a co-founder of Chain-Sys family. He attended PSG College of Technology and holds a Mechanical Engineering Bachelors. He is a frequent instructor for Oracle University teaching newer modules and technology stacks. He presents at Oracle Applications User Group conferences. He has been part of several global Oracle EBS ERP implementations for Industry Giants such as GE and Alcoa. He architected the e-Chain™ ERP suite and the appLOAD™ suite for Oracle EBS environments. His fluency in Business Processes, Oracle EBS functionalities and Oracle/J2EE technology stack does not dilute his deep acumen in Business and Human relations. He has mentored a whole generation of Oracle and J2EE experts within Chain-Sys. Sundu has traveled widely in India, USA, Canada, Europe, South East Asia and the Middle East. Sundu is a Racquet Ball (similar to Squash) player. He also plays great Tennis, Chess and Volleyball. He played Volleyball for Madurai District.

 

Raymond Ray
Raymond Ray is Director of Applications and Services at Chain-sys Corporation. He has over thirty five years experience in business management and information systems consulting and development focused on helping manufacturers and distributors improve productivity. He was a founding member of the Package Selection and Implementation Practice for a "Big 4" consulting firm and a chief developer of their ERP package selection and implementation methodology. Ray's industry experience ranges from small to large companies within the aerospace and defense, food and beverage , machine tools, metals, high tech, electronics, transportation, pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer goods, retail, chemical and fashion segments. Also included in his background are hands on experience in manufacturing and supply chain management. He has been certified by the American Production Inventory Control Society, has developed and taught classes in Enterprise Resource Planning, been a guest lecturer in ERP systems at Columbia University and served as an expert witness in ERP functionality and implementation in the US District Court. Ray studied at the SUNY Maritime College (BS, Marine Transportation), Ricker College (BBA, Management and Economics) and Long Island University (MBA, Computer Science).

 

John Perkins
Mr. Perkins is responsible for Chain-Sys Corporation's Product Solutions and Services Development Practice. He is a senior information technology executive with over thirty (30) years of integration experience across multiple industries. Prior to joining Chain-Sys, John spent eight (8) years as a Partner/Managing Director for KPMG/BearingPoint managing technology organizations and system integration projects. He has held other technology management positions, including CIO for an energy company. As an executive experienced in major systems integration consulting and business management, John has proven leadership capabilities in identifying business productivity efficiencies, developing and deploying strategic IT solutions, and providing rigorous program/project management.

Ganesan Rathinam

Ganesan is a post graduate from Electrical Engineering department of IIT Chennai with his bachelors from Electronics and Communications Department of AC College of Engineering and Technology. He has extensive experience in VLSI design, Software Systems Design and Development, Project Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Contracts. Currently is the CEO of Chain-Sys Corporation, USA. Before his current role with Chain-Sys, he was associated with Unisys Corporation, DSRC, Tata Unisys and Bharat Electronics. Presented a paper on Test Patterns at the First International Conference on VLSI Design held in IIT Chennai (1984). He has traveled widely in the USA, India, Canada, Europe, Singapore and the Middle East. His other interests are Story Telling, Creative Design, Painting, Swimming, Hiking, Canoeing and Kayaking. He speaks Tamil, English, Hindi and a little Telugu and Kannada.

 

Robert Morgan

Robert Morgan retired from Alcoa after 30 years predominately working in an IT management role. Robert led a successful deployment of the Oracle E-Business suite for Alcoa's Primary Metals business unit. This project spanned 8 years, started as a North America initiative that later expanded to oversee the deployment of the same solution to Primary Metals units around the globe. Robert holds a BS degree in Business Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania
