Hypercom elected to use the CHAIN-SYS’ appLOAD™ tool to assist in a complex, multi-country, multi-language Oracle EBS 11i Europe Rollout. CHAIN-SYS delivered the appLOAD suite, along with conversion templates covering GL, AP, AR, FA, OM, PO, Items, Cost, HRMS, BOM, MRP, and Service Contracts.  All the migration data was first loaded and cleansed in the Test environment and then moved into the Production environment at GO-LIVE.  A “hub and spoke” model maintained all connectivity for the entire non-production environment in one instance.

Modules Used:

      Financials | Manufacturing | ASCP | HRMS

Technical situation

Hypercom was faced with aggressive time line needs and a dynamically changing organization structure.  With multiple source ERP systems, each with different business process, a significant data cleanup was needed.

Challenges:

  • Multiple Source (ERP) Systems (7)
  • Different / Distinct  Business Process (7)
  • Multiple Languages (4)
  • Aggressive Timeline Needs
  • Dynamically Changing Organization Structure
  • Very Large Data Volumes
  • Significant Data Cleanup needed
  • Several Integrations between Oracle and Other systems
  • Budgetary Considerations

Options we considered for Data Conversion:

  • Full Data Conversion Team to perform Classic Data Conversion Process

Vs

  • Utilization of a Standardized Tool in conjunction with a smaller Development Team

Benefits

Hypercom is using appLOAD to support the ongoing Oracle implementation activities of the company as we continue to bring on additional divisions, and or need to upload relevant Oracle EBS Data. On a daily basis, Hypercom continues to use appLOAD for the ongoing data maintenance process in activities such as Item Costs and MRP forecasting.

  • AP Invoices (Open and History)
  • AP Payments (Open)
  • Vendors, Sites and Contacts
  • Customers, Sites and Contacts

Reference

"[the] appLOAD tool helped us tremendously in reducing our project time lines for converting large amounts of data from various legacy systems into Oracle. We were able to achieve the data conversion with fewer technical resources than required by the classic data conversion approach. The appLOAD support team is very responsive."
